1. What are cookies?

A cookie is a small text file that a website saves on your computer or mobile device (such as a smartphone or a tablet) when you visit a website. They are used to “remember” your actions and preferences (such as login, language, font, size and other display preferences) over a period of time, so you don’t have to keep re-entering them whenever you come back to the site or browse from one page to another.

Verhaert Masters in Innovation uses different types of cookies:

  • Tracking cookies: These cookies are placed by an external party. By reading these cookies the advertiser recognizes you when you visit a site in which he is also involved. If you continue browsing, personalized ads can be shown. These cookies can also keep track of your online behavior, which may result in a very specific profile being built by these parties. This profile can be so detailed that it is considered personal data.
